The foils are placed on only part of your hair, generally from ear to ear and from fringe to the crown, to give you dimension and texture. You will see your natural color peeking through from the back and around the nape of the neck. You'll be shampooed and styled before you walk out the door. Partial Blonding Balayage Experience:

A low maintenance, "face -framing" lived-in, free-hand partial balayage (or foiliage) technique that gives an extremely natural "rooty" look. The word balayage comes from the French term “to sweep” and perfectly describes how the highlight color is applied to the hair. The ultimate goal is to create that flawless transition (soft-growout) of impeccable hues that give a candid, subtle, sun-kissed look to vibrant browns and blondes. This includes your base color (root smudge, root melt or shadow root), along with gloss/toner and blowdry style. (3.5-4 hours+ on average; depending on your density, previous chemical work, or the length of regrowth this process may take shorter or longer).

Great color with a great color specialist in San Diego as always!! I’m allergic to most color and I found out she uses INOA l’oreal professional so I had to see her. Love you! Thanks Elle.

Got the best haircut and color from Elle, she is amazing and very friendly and will give you exactly what you asked for, The salon is beautiful and very clean. She is very nice and knowledgeable about all the hair products she uses on me. I have been going there for a few months and will definitely recommend it to all my family and friends to book with Elle.

Elle was so easily to talk to. I wanted to get the blonde out of my hair. It took 5 hours — she was so sweet the whole time. I will definitely be going back to her.

I have been going to Elle for years. She did my tape ins and now does my hand tied extensions and my highlights. They always have been perfect and she has the best work ethic as well. I would highly recommend her for any beauty needs. 🙂

Difference between semi-permanent, demi-permanent, and permanent

Semi-permanent hair color does not contain peroxide so it can not lift the hair, therefore it can only make the hair darker and not lighter. The color will only last about six to twelve shampoos because it only deposits the hair color on the outermost layer of the hair. This is a good choice to try if you are afraid you may not like the color. Also, semi-permanent will enhance the shine and condition of the hair since it is not lifting.

Demi-Permanent hair color contains low amounts of peroxide which unlike semi-permanent, it can lighten the hair slightly. Demi-permanent deposits the color between the cuticle and cortex, therefore, making it last longer, anywhere from 12 – 26 washes.

Permanent hair color just as the name suggests, it is a permanent hair color and will last until the colored strands grow out. Permanent hair color can lighten hair up to 4 levels anything more than that is not recommended as it can cause damage to the hair.

FAQs

What goes on before and during your color service is just as important as what comes after. Using correct high quality products are very important. Avoid products from drugstores or third party companies such as Amazon, those products are diluted or tampered with. Only buy directly from the source or through an authorized salon retailer. Products that are color safe or and also pH-balanced focus are ideal. No sulfates! Products that are sulfate free will prove to enhance and extend the life of hair color. Porous hair will also cause fast color fading due to open or blown out cuticles in the hair shaft.

If you are coloring your hair for the first time, you should go to a licensed professional . A professional hairstylist will be able to consult with you on what color would look best with your skin tone and to ensure that your hair will get the desired results you are looking for without damaging it.

If you are using a permanent hair color you have to lift the hair using hydrogen peroxide (developer). This process raises or opens up the cuticle layer of the hair to allow the color molecules to penetrate the cortex depositing the color which could damage the hair if not done properly. If you use the wrong level of peroxide or if you constantly change your hair color (over-processing), this is what will cause damage to your hair. However, if you use a semi-permanent or demi-permanent they will help add extra shine and condition to the hair but will only last a couple of shampoos.

After you receive your color service, wait at least 24 hours before shampooing your hair…48 hours is even better. Try and limit your washing to 3 times a week, especially if you have a more intense color like, red.

If you are trying to go from a dark shade color to a light shade of color, you will need to bleach the hair. To lighten the hair, you have to use some type of bleach or peroxide to remove the pigment in the hair. Once the pigment is removed, the hair cuticle lifts allowing the hair color to be absorbed.

Yes, as long as your hair is in good condition, you can get a color service and highlights all on the same day.
